 Brands, Logos, Slogans

Can you explain what a brand, logo, and slogan Is? Use your own words.

A brand is everything that helps you think of the company A Logo is a symbol that represents a company. Slogan is a set of words that remind you of the company. Nike ( Just Do It), Mcdonalds (I'm Lovin' It), KFC (It's Finger-Licking Good)

Find 4 logos that you like (the logo, not necessarily the product- is it the same thing?) Explain why you picked each one.

My Favourate logos Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo.

I like it because it is well disign the blue and yellow

The next Logo is interesting because it has the X in the middle and it suits really well next to the green and i like the colour.

The Nintendo Logo is nice and clear you can see the writing properly. The font is interesting.

  1. Which logo do you think is most successful? Why? The Playstation logo is simple and well made. the colours are easy to look at. Also the Xbox has a really good logo especially the bright and spaced colours between the green and the white.
  2. Find 2 examples of logos that you think are not good designs and explain why. The Kraft foods logo is really bad because it has more colours that don't fit well in the design the font is quite basic and not much interest to it.

Notes on what makes a good logo
A good logo should have
1) Design-  Should have a great technique in the design simple and memorable.
2) Shape-  Needs to be simple to suit the design.
3) Colour  Same again with the colours not too much but one or two colours to make the design well made.
4) Tonal contrast-  To make a good image but not to make the image exaggerate in the design also   Light and dark.

TYPES OF RESEARCH
A) Differences between Primary and Secondary research, advantages and disadvantages of each
A primary is talking to people and seconday research is researching on a computer to look other poeple what they have to say.

B  What do you think you need to research in order to make an effective advert for a product
Understand the age, gender, income level, education, occupation location and other key traits of
the people who are most likely to buythe product.

C   Primary Research: what methods could you use for gathering relevant information.
Primary research involves gathering data that has not been collected before. Methods to collect it
can include interviews, surveys, observations or any types

D   Difference between quantitative and qualitative Research.

E   Secondary research: Examples of what you could use as sources?
why do you need to reference give three reasons?

IDEAS FOR PRODUCT

Which product is your final pick? Whom would you sell it to?

I drew this picture that I had in mind, this logo named I WATCH [this stands for Ieno watch.) The main point is this watch can help you with something that you're thinking or something you want. The best part is you can have fun with your imagination. The watch will make life easier. it would do a lot of tasks like when you are late for your exam the watch warns you and gives you the energy to your shoes to run faster than a car or a bus to catch up to your exam faster and easier. Also, stuff you need to buy, the watch knows stuff and gives reminders. It won't allow anything dangerous or illegal.

Functions of packaging

PROTECTION- To protect any product that is inside the packaging to be careful and not break any product. protection from falls, elements, and dirt.

CONTAINMENT- To also contain products like foods and drinks so that these can be kept together eg. a loaf of bread. to put it in the same place.

IDENTIFICATION- The packaging helps you identify from a product.

TRANSPORTATION- The truck delivery the packaging has o protect the product while transporting. packaging should also make the product easy to transport.

Stacking  for display you would able to stack out easily.

1 What are the three advertising structures? What does each one consist of?

Talking heads This means the televised head and shoulders shot of a person talking.
2 What kind of advert were you asked to shoot? how did you feel about this task? what did you plan on your storyboard? how difficult was planning with your team?
I mean this was quite complex but it went well we planned it out as a team for the shots.

3 How did your footage come out? after reviewing it, which shots are you happiest with?
what shots did you plan that were easy to shoot? What was the biggest issue you faced when filming with your team?
Yes I am happy that the futi Looking at the camera and reading the script at the same time is quite tricky.

4 In the end it went well. before we started the filming we had a teamwork conversation on where we are going to be and the shots were going to take.

5 Now I want to improve my communication when it comes to teamwork.

I wanted to create a advert to promote a product, Lemsip. at first I was worried on being in front of the camera. we planed out out script on who is going to speak. The four of us read the script one buy one, as a part of planning a story board.

The team was a little complicated all of us didn't want to speak in front of the camera but miss gave us an idea the idea was is we all have to speak in front of the camera one at a time. Once we finished our discussion the four of us went to the studio we filmed each other one at a time, when Faizan is filming I looked on how he holds the camera and where he press to start filming, Then my group started filming me I felt uncomfortable but

                                                                      Rotoscoping

Title and introduction. Rotoscoping experimentation

Rotoscoping refers to an animation technique that animators use to trace over motion picture. I added a rotoscope animation frame buy frame next to the video that has been shot.

The main tools I used in the software were… I used two softwares. I created the line art in adobe animate. I used a brush then i added keyframes next I made very intricate frame. I did the animation to draw around the product to make an aura. I want to add aura to represent the power of the medicine. I edited the footage in premiere pro using deferent layers to add my animation and the original footage.

When I look at the final outcome, I think that… When I look at the final out come I find it really well designed. The best part I really like about the design is the electric fiery design. I would improve this design by adding a shine on the product to make it more interesting and presentable.

The part that I had difficulty with was… The editing is most difficult because I found that using adobe animate

The part of the process that I found most interesting was….

When I think of my brand advert I’m going to make, I think… [how much could you potentially use this skill?]

Embed your finished rotoscoping animation.

Rotoscoping refers to

The first tool I have been used is the Eclipstool to make a circle shape of a clock face. Second tool I picked is the line segment tool to make two clock lines to fit well in the clock face.
I exported it as PNG and SVG.

SYNOPSIS
Lots of colours brought through animation (rotoscoping). Close-ups of the watchface and I want shots of a wrist modelling it. I stil the advert to make it more minimal. One shot of the watch faces changing because it is customisable. I would use a voiceover describing the features of the watch. Also this can customize the watch face to choose what I want and need.

I used adobe illustrator to make a package for my product. I used the 3D and materials option under Effects to create the box and make it look similar to the box i liked while im doing my research. I also added my logo to the package. i wanted to be a carboard box because it is more simple that way this also made the package a little more sustainable.

This is the video advert there are some bits I havent finished such as some of the shots. If I had extra time I would put more shots.

Evaluation

Logo

The target audience for my brand is for teenagers and adults. To make this suitable for my target audience is created a logo with a simple design to help others recognise what the company is about. The colours were kept simple to make sure that nothing was exaggerated. I would have liked to add some colour like blue or red or even green because I feel like they would keep the design of the logo clean and not overpowering the design itself. The logo is very straightforward and tells the audience what the company sells.

I used Adobe Photoshop to make my logo, which I found a little complex to understand the tools within the software. What I found easier was that I found a tool within the software that can create shapes, which helped me design the logo. The first tool I have been used is the Eclipstool to make a circle shape of a clock face. Second tool I picked is the line segment tool to make two clock lines to fit well in the clock face. I had a rough idea of what I imagined the logo to look like. However, I soon realised that when I was creating the clock with the handles it looks like Pacman, so I changed the direction of the circle. I feel like I need to develop my knowledge in the tools and their names and getting comfortable with the software. I would like to have added colours if I have a little more time to work on this. I had some issues when I was creating the logo as I had to figure out the tools that I needed to create the logo, I went and looked for help with what I needed.

Packaging

I researched similar packaging and found a package design that I liked and used that to help get ideas from it. I feel like the packaging is suitable for the product because it is a simple packaging and not too complex. I designed the packaging to make sure that it is sustainable and that it was made from cardboard. I used Adobe Illustrator to create my packaging, I used the 3D and materials option under Effects to create the box. It was my first time using Adobe Illustrator and found that creating my packaging was difficult, as I had to find out all the tools that I could use. I feel like I should have also included the logo on top of the box as well as having it on the side of the box.

 Video Advert

My lecturer helped me by creating a template for my advert. I used keyframes and onion skin to animate my own advert shot by shot. I then added colour and background. I also duplicated frames to add to the duration of the advert. I was not able to finish and upload it but I would like to work on it in my free time, so I can add sound. I would have liked to add more shots with different images if I had time.

I used adobe animate to create the visuals first. then i imported the file to premiere pro to add the audio. the hardest part is matching the audio to the video. i had to change the pace of the audio to make it a bit slower to fit the visuals. Overall I am happy with my finished piece
